FABIUS -- The record snowfall we've seen in Central New York this month has been a welcome sight at Highland Forest Park in Fabius.
"It couldn't have come at a better time," said Park Superintendent Brian Kelley. "We're actually two weeks ahead of schedule -- that's the fantastic thing. The early snow has been phenomenal for skiers looking to go out."
In its first full weekend, the park has seen roughly 800 people -- including a woman who came all the way from Georgia for the famous sleigh ride.
"It's beautiful, it's cold -- but I love the horses and I love the jingle bells...I just love the whole atmosphere," said Kelly Williams, who's originally from Fabius.
She's not the only one who enjoyed the sleigh ride.
"It was absolutely beautiful," said Theresa Beirne, Fayetteville. "There's just snow everywhere, the trees, it's just absolutely gorgeous."
"It's awesome, just the scenery and the snow and being out in the country -- it's great," said Brianna Williams, Fabius.
The park is also utilizing technology and social media this year. You can check the ski conditions at anytime on its website. You can also connect with the park and other folks who have visited on Facebook.
