According to Utica Police, officers were called to the 1600 block of Howard Avenue early Friday morning for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived they found 27-year-old Benjamin Reed of Howard Avenue suffering from stab wounds, including a punctured lung.

Police say while they were at the hospital with Reed investigating the incident, a woman arrived suffering from a broken arm, among other injuries. Police looked further into the circumstances surrounding the injuries and determined that Reed had attacked the woman.
