SYRACUSE -- A local high school closed early Wednesday morning after a water main break on a nearby street.
According to the Syracuse City School District, students at Fowler High School were dismissed at 10:15 a.m. because of a water main break on Nelson Avenue. District communications coordinator Michael Henesey says the water main break has left the Fowler building without running water.
Henesey says all students were dismissed, and staff members were told to report to Delaware Elementary School for the day.
In a follow-up email sent at 3:13 Wednesday afternoon, Henesey said the water has been restored at Fowler High School, and tonight’s women’s basketball game will take place as originally scheduled. The junior varsity game tips off at 5:00 p.m., followed by the varsity contest.
