MANLIUS -- An Onondaga County man faces charges after police say he stole money from a local charity.

According to the Manlius Police Department, 44-year-old Jeffrey McMillan of Coolidge Avenue in Syracuse is charged with one count of petit larceny and 22 counts of unlawful possession of personal identification information in the case of a theft at a Manlius accounting firm. Police say McMillan was working for a cleaning company and allegedly stole a box containing cash, checks, and credit card receipts while cleaning the office.

Police say the money found in the box was from a recent fundraiser for the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation in Fayetteville. Police also say they were able to recover the stolen proceeds and information, and they believe no personal data was compromised.

McMillan was arraigned in Manlius Town Court and taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $250 bail.
