SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department wants to know who shot a 17-year-old on Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:30, officers responded to 222 Shonnard Street. That's where they found the male victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. He was transported to Upstate Hospital and received treatment for the non-life threatening injury.

His identity is being withheld at this time.

While officers were responding to the call, a "shots fired" complaint was sent out for another location. Police responded to 400 Shonnard Street, where it's unknown whether anything or anyone was found.

Right now police don't know if the incidents are related. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 442-5222.
