Man robs liquor store, assaults store owner

NEW BERLIN, CHENANGO CO. -- Investigators in Chenango County are searching for the man behind an armed robbery at a liquor store.

Authorities say a man walked into New Berlin Liquors on North Main Street around 5 p.m. Monday, assaulted the store owner and took off on foot.

The man was last seen walking south on North Main Street. He's described as a white man, 20 to 25-years-old, approximately 5'9" to 6'0 tall with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark colored winter jacket and a red knit hat at the time.
