ITHACA -- A fire Monday night damages some downtown Ithaca businesses. Around 6:20pm Monday, emergency crews were called to a building in the 100 block of West State Street. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke in the building.

When crews entered the building, there was heavy fire in one of the tenant spaces occupied by the Prize Diner. Firefighters got the flames under control in less than an hour.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury while working on the scene.

Right now, the case of the fire is still under investigation. There is significant damage to the tenant spaces, and the building will need substantial repairs before it can be occupied again.
