Fire engulfs former Marsellus Casket company
SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse teenager pleads guilty to arson for his role in the fire that destroyed the old Marsellus Casket factory.
Tyler Emm, who was 16 at the time of the fire, admitted his guilt in Onondaga County Court Thursday morning. As part of the plea deal, Emm is expected to receive two to six years in prison when he's sentenced March 10th.
Last month, Anthony Cheney was sentenced for his role in an earlier fire at the factory. He was also charged in connection with the 2010 fire that destroyed the building, but those charges were dismissed as a part of the plea deal.
The September fire destroyed the 121-year-old landmark. Police say Emm and three others used the vacant factory as a place to hang out and party.
