February thaw will get blown away this weekend

You knew it wouldn't last.  This little tease of balmy temperatures from Mother Nature will soon be gone.   The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for our area from 4pm this afternoon thought 11pm Saturday. Temperatures will also fall from the 40s through the 20s from this afternoon through tonight, and we may see some lake effect snow tomorrow.

Good Friday morning! Enjoy the last few hours of this February thaw. By Saturday morning, a major difference in weather will be slamming into our area. Expect unseasonably mild temperatures in the 40°s and 50°s through the course of the day. Skies should be cloudy through the morning with a threat for sprinkles or a light showers. During the afternoon, winds will shift to the west and bring in drier air and some sunshine initially. Temperatures will fall back to near 40° by sunset. Winds: SW 10-20 MPH this morning and WSW 15-25 MPH this afternoon. A wind advisory will begin at 4pm.

The evening should be relatively fine. It will be breezy alongside a partly clear sky. Winds should increase late tonight. In addition, lake effect snow showers, flurries and steadier squalls should form east and then southeast of Lake Ontario during the pre-dawn hours. Wind: WSW 15-25 MPH through 1am, then W 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH by sunrise.
