SYRACUSE, NY -- Update: Syracuse police have made an arrest after a stabbing this afternoon on the 1300 block of Butternut St .
Police say, around 3:45 p.m., they found a man who had been stabbed in the torso. He was taken to the hospital, and the injury did not appear to be life threatening.
Officers Jason Sands and Matthew Liadka were on the scene when they heard a description of the suspect from 911. They saw a suspect matching the description, and after an investigation, arrested that man. He is Shihiem Saffold, 18, of Syracuse.
Police say Saffold is being charged with second degree assault, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Syracuse city court.
Police believe the stabbing was the result of a dispute, but they do not know what caused that dispute. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
