CAPE VINCENT, JEFFERSON CO. -- State police need your help finding the man who tried to rob a convenience store in the North Country.

Police say a man wearing a black ski mask walked into the Cape Dairy Motel and convenience store at 112 East Broadway Street in the Village of Cape Vincent around 8:40 p.m. Sunday. They say approached the clerk with a gun and demanded money. After a brief struggle, police say, he left with nothing. The clerk suffered minor abrasions in the fight.

The suspect is described as a while male, about 5'8" tall with a heavy build. Police are searching for a small silver two-door passenger car last seen going south on Route 12E.

Anyone with information should call state police at (315) 782-2112. All calls will remain confidential.
