FABIUS -- An Onondaga County town is taking action against hydrofracking.
The town of Fabius passed a moratorium on the controversial natural gas drilling process Monday night. Several other municipalities have taken similar measures.
Town board members also set up a damage and remediation fund to help compensate landowners who have suffered losses because of hydrofracking.
During Monday night's meeting, board members also voted to repeal a regulation called compulsory integration. It gives gas companies the power of eminent domain on people's properties if enough of their neighbors allow drilling.
