You may want to grab a lottery ticket on your way home from work tonight. The jackpot for Friday night's Mega Millions drawing is now $312 million.
The New York Lottery says strong sales across all Mega Millions states helped bump the jackpot by more than $8 million from the previously advertised jackpot number.
Tickets for the drawing can be purchased at more than 16,000 retail locations across the state until 10:45 p.m. Friday. The drawing will take place at 11 p.m.
Mega Millions is played in 42 states and Washington D.C.
The Powerball game also went without a winner this week, so the jackpot now stands at $125 million. That drawing will take place Saturday night. The top Powerball prize hasn't been hit since February 26th.
