Rome woman hurt in turkey collision

ROME -- Oneida County Sheriff's Investigators say a turkey flew into the passenger side of a minivan and caused an accident that injured a woman from Rome.

The accident happned Friday evening at 5 p.m. on Route 365 in Rome.

Deputies say Annette Caro, 48, of W. Thomas Street in Rome was driving her Dodge Caravan east on Route 365, when a turkey flew into the passenger side of the minivan. The collision caused Caro to strike her elbow on the arm rest causing injury to her elbow. She was treated on scene and released by members of the Rome Fire Deptment.

Caro's passenger, Janedy Vega, 26, and two other children, ages 8 and 3, were in the car and were not injured. No tickets were issued.
