SYRACUSE -- Monday morning update:
A Virginia man is charged with drunk driving in a deadly crash that claimed the life of a Utica man.
It happened around 7:13 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Street and Webster Avenue.
Utica police have charged 46-year-old William Daniels of Virginia with DWI. He is currently in stable condition at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Police say Daniels was driving a van when he collided with a man and his wife. 50-year-old Nurko Bakaran, of South Utica Street, was killed. Dula Bakaran sustained significant injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Any further charges against Daniels are pending a report by the accident reconstruction team and toxicology results.

Utica police are investigating a fatal accident.
Sunday around 7:15pm police responded to South Street and Webster Avenue for an accident involving a van and a car. Police say the driver of the car 50-year-old Nurko Bakaran was killed and his wife Dula was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The driver of the van is also being treated.
