Utica father accused of smoking pot while watching young kids

UTICA -- A Utica man is accused of smoking marijuana while watching his 4-month-old and 3-year-old children.

31-year-old Matthew Krupa, of 1506 Whitesboro Street, is charged with criminal possession of marijuana.

Utica police say they responded to his home to check on the welfare of the children. Child Protective Services had received a complaint that Krupa was smoking pot while caring for the kids.

When the got inside the apartment, police say they detected a strong odor of marijuana and found several marijuana plants and paraphernalia.

Krupa was arrested. Child Protective Services was notified and responded to the scene.
