Loretto sponsors luncheon, free events
Loretto, which is Central New York's largest long term care provider, is 'showing off' for the month of May--designated as Older Americans Month.
The major event is May 20th, a celebration luncheon and Loretto Legacy Awards ceremony. The keynote speaker is with the NY Medicaid Redesign Team, and is expected to talk about the future of eldercare and retirement prospects. Honorees include Monsignor Charles Fahey (now at Fordham University, but longtime Loretto leader and national eldercare advocate), as well as Tully Junior High School (which does an intergenerational apple pie making event every year). Tickets are available through the Loretto Foundation, 446-5538.
There are many other events, including four free ones, open to the general public:

>Talent Show by Loretto residents, staff and guests. Cunningham Auditorium, Loretto Campus, Friday May 13 10am
>Senior Health & Fitness Fair at The Nottingham, Wednesday, May 25 10am - 2pm
>Blessing of the Years interfaith Service, at Loretto's The Heritage, 750 E Brighton Ave, Friday May 27 10am
In addition there are concerts, a spelling bee, poker, and even a senior prom for Loretto residents and clients.
