FULTON -- Two young children are doing ok after the pickup truck they were in plunged down a steep embankment.

It happened around 10:15 a.m.

Fulton police Lt. Jason Delano tells CNY Central the children, ages 1 and 3, were sitting in their booster seats in the truck which was parked in the parking lot of Pizza Hut on West First Street. That’s when the truck started rolling, plummeting down the embankment and smashing into some trees about 50 to 60 feet down below.

The children were not hurt.

The driver got out and started chasing after the vehicle. Police think there may have been some mechanical issues with the car. The man suffered scratches to his feet from running down the hill.

Lt. Delano says tickets were issued. The incident is still under investigation.
