BUFFALO (AP) -- U.S. and Canadian authorities are offering guidance to travelers who'll be crossing the border during the busy summer season.
Representatives from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency will offer travel tips on both sides of the Peace Bridge linking Buffalo and Fort Erie, Ontario on Thursday.
Officials say it's important to have proper identification ready to show to agents - either an enhanced driver's license, passport or passport card. If there's a child in the car who's not part of the family, he should have a note from a parent that includes the parent's name and phone number.
Drivers also are advised to turn off radios and cell phones and to take off their sunglasses before driving up to the inspection booths.
