MORAVIA -- Police in Cayuga County are looking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for vandalizing a local cemetery.

According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are investigating multiple reports of vandalism at the Indian Mound Cemetery on Route 38A in Moravia. Police say a number of headstones at the cemetery have been tipped over and will require special equipment to put them back into place. Police also say the incidents started in 2008 and have happened as recently as a week ago.

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the cemetery, or who has any information on this case is asked to call the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at 315-253-3545. Callers can remain anonymous.
