Utica man arrested for using forged prescription

A Utica man is accused of trying to get a painkiller with a fake prescription.

State police say 24-year-old Elvir Nuhanovic, of 1010 Morris Street, used a forged prescription to get the painkiller Lortab at a local Hannaford Supermarket Pharmacy.

Nuhanovic is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance and falsifying business records. All of the charges are felonies.

He was arraigned in the Town of Whitestown Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $20,000 bail.
