ROMULUS, SENECA CO. -- A Romulus teenager is credited with saving a woman from her burning car.

Seneca County Sheriff's deputies say 14-year-old William Petrie saw flames coming from the front of a car following an accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Fayette and pulled the driver from the burning car.

Deputies say 63-year-old Janet Rogers-Brown, of 1779 Yale Farm Rd., was headed southbound on St. Rt. 96 when she fell asleep at the wheel, flying off the road and slamming into a culvert. The car burst into flames and Petrie rescued the woman.

Rogers-Brown was later treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance for shoulder pain and transported to Geneva General Hospital.
