LISLE, BROOME CO. -- State police have arrested a Broome County woman for allegedly abandoning her newborn baby.

26-year-old Sara Clauson, of Lot #45 in the Shady Maple Trailer Park in Lisle, is charged with reckless endangerment, a felony.

Police say she gave birth to a baby girl on June 16th, then abandoned the infant on a lawn near another home in the trailer park. The baby was found approximately 6 1/2 hours later. The infant was transported by Broome County Ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Broome County Child Protective Services has taken protective custody of the baby girl pending action in Broome County Family Court.

This case will be presented to a Grand Jury and we're told more charges may be filed.

Clauson was arraigned in the Town of Lisle court and released on her own recognizance.
