LAKELAND -- The political buzz surrounding Governor Andrew Cuomo is hard to miss.
After just six months in office, he has done just about everything he said he would do -- from passing a state budget on time to championing legislation on same-sex marriage, ethics reform and capping property taxes. Now -- speculation grows around Cuomo's interest in Washington in 2012 as a VP candidate or in 2016 as a presidential candidate.
"Cuomo, right now, is as close to being knighted a front runner in 2016 as anybody has been this early," said political analyst Bob Greene.
"That is just political chatter, I have a very important job," Cuomo said. "I'm only six months in -- we got a lot done in the six months but we got a lot more to do to get this state running."
The governor is on a victory lap of sorts -- talking up the new property tax cap law, one the top items on his political agenda. Wednesday, he made a stop in Lakeland to speak with folks about the new law.
Greene said trips like this, where the governor is out in front of the people of Upstate New York, is what will keep his momentum going in the coming months.
What do you think? Do you think Cuomo will make a run for President in 2016? Would you vote for him?
