VOLNEY, OSWEGO CO. -- A Mattydale man is facing drug charges after allegedly leading deputies on a chase.
Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 22-year-old Thomas Boothe, of 162 Malden Road, was swaying into the direction of an unmarked Sheriff's patrol car on SR 481 in the Town of Volney.
When they tried to pull him over, deputies say he sped up and was swaying again from lane to lane and onto the shoulder of the highway. After about two miles, authorities say Boothe pulled over to the right shoulder near Dutch Bridge Road.
Deputies say they later found a glass jar with marijuana and a glass pipe with marijuana residue in his car.
Boothe was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana and several traffic violations.
He was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and released on his own recognizance. He's due back in court on July 18th.
