SALINA -- What should happen to a pedestrian bridge in the Town of Salina?

It's a question the Onondaga County Department of Transportation wants your input on.

The John Glenn Boulevard pedestrian bridge is between Route 57 and Route 370 and connects Woodspath Road and Juanita Drive.

On Wednesday, the county DOT asked for the public's input on whether to fix it up or get rid of it all together.

One person we spoke with said the bridge provides a safe alternative to the busy highways.

"On a bicycle, with the traffic on the main highways, this is a nice alternate route through the neighborhoods," said Peter Thiemann, who uses the bridge when he rides his bike. "there's not too much traffic, it's a lot safer, and if they fixed it that would be better, it's a little rough."

The DOT said it would cost about $100,000 to either fix the bridge or tear it down.
