3 Arrested in 'credit card scam' at Erie Blvd store

Reeds Jewelers called in suspicious activity

DeWitt Police have arrested three out-of-the-area suspects in what they say was an attempt to purchase merchandise using counterfeit credit cards and non-working credit cards with fictitious merchant codes.

Investigators got the call from Reeds Jewelers on Erie Boulevard, about 3:15 Friday afternoon, and found one suspect inside the store, two others waiting in a car in the parking lot.

They're now checking with other area stores, to see if they were also targeted. Investigators say that could take some time, and they are not releasing photos of the three, because they may be in lineups.  The suspects are identified as Hyquan Barnes, 23, from Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn; Franklin Booker, 17, Quiet Pine Court, Chester, Vermont;  and Andre Daniels, 26, Clifton Place, Brooklyn.
