Family is driving to Lima to bring her home
Found! Patricia Gettman ended up in Lima, Ohio---her family is on the way there, to bring her home.
Update: We're just off the phone with one of Patricia Gettman's daughters. She and her father are on their way to Ohio to get Patricia and bring her, and the car, home. Mary Smith tells me they don't know al the details, but apparently Patricia thought she was going south, and was expecting to run into Tully. They also don't know, yet, what prompted the store clerk to call police, who identified Gettman and called Syracuse Police with the good news.
=====
The search for a missing Syracuse woman is over: at 9:30 Saturday morning, Patricia Gettman walked into an AutoZone store in Lima, Ohio---about 500 miles, an almost eight hour trip---and asked the clerk for directions to Syracuse. He called authorities, who positively identified her. Syracuse Police tell us she appeared disoriented. They don't know how she will come home, yet.
Gettman, who's 70, had surgery recently, and had moved from Central Square to Brighton Towers. Thursday morning she was supposed to visit her daughter, on Otisco Road near Tully, but never showed up. Her husband and two daughters have been driving rural roads, looking for her since then.
