It's a chance to get close-up to zoo animals, and learn something about them, without going to the zoo.
Zoo to You is the Syracuse Zoo's traveling, educational exhibit, and this summer they're really traveling--going to area libraries as part of the summer reading program.
Nate Keefe, the director of education for the Rosemond Gifford Zoo, says there is a variety of animals, and of themes, presented with 'Zoo to You'. As he visited our studio, he introduced us to Percival, a blue-tongued skink. Percival got a little camera-shy and did not stick out his tongue (that's how the sniff) during his live appearance on Weekend Today in CNY, but Nate explained that the large lizard travels to lots of groups, to improve the image of reptiles.
Zoo to You is available to school groups, seniors, daycare centers, libraries and private groups. For more information, zootoyou@rosamondgiffordzoo.org or 435-8411x124
