Free dinners and a chance to meet neighbors

Syracuse's Assumption Church is starting a community outreach aimed at building peaceful relations between the many groups settled on the city North Side, and cutting down on neighborhood violence.

Father Brad Milunski, Assumption's Rector, says the outreach is actually a collaboration between his urban church, and Holy Cross, in suburban DeWitt.
The plan is to host three nights of free BBQs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, starting at 6pm.  They'll include music, 'short' talks, and a chance for neighbors to socialize.  On Friday, they're planning a Procession for Peace through the neighborhoods, then a return to Assumption for Benediction, followed by dessert.
