UTICA -- A New York man dared local police to come catch him… and they say they did!
According to Utica Police, on Monday members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Utica and New York City arrested 29-year-old Ruben Burgos of Brooklyn on arrest warrants for allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend and violating a restraining order. Police say an order of protection was placed on Burgos, which he ignored by repeatedly calling his girlfriend and threatening to kill her on June 6.
Utica Police say that before they could arrest Burgos, he fled to New York City. He later posted a statement on his Facebook page daring police to catch him, saying “Catch me if you can, I'm in Brooklyn". That dare was later removed. This begs the question... what's the craziest thing you've ever seen someone post as their Facebook status update?
After his arrest, Burgos was returned to Utica and turned over to local police. No word on if his Facebook page reflects his current situation and location.
