New York state Education Commissioner John B. King Jr. says he's created a high-level board to crack down on cheating by teachers, administrators and students in standardized tests.

The group headed by the executive deputy commissioner is scheduled to report its recommendations by the beginning of the school year.

A series of measures are planned to be effective just as student scores become part of teacher evaluations.

The measures will follow recent cheating scandals nationwide.

The requirements will be in addition to measures taken almost a decade ago after The Associated Press found an increase in cheating by teachers and administrators on standardized tests.
