NYS FAIRGROUNDS -- There's no word yet on whether the assault on singer Gavin DeGraw will impact his appearance at the New York State Fair.
DeGraw is currently in the hospital after being attacked by a group of men in New York City on Sunday. He suffered a concussion, a broken nose, black eyes, cuts, and bruises.
The singer has been forced to cancel a concert planned for tonight in Saratoga Springs, near Albany. So far there is no information about other tour dates.
We spoke with officials from the New York State Fair today. Troy Waffner says the Fair has not heard anything yet from DeGraw's representatives. He says "Our thoughts are with him, and we hope to see him on opening night of the Fair."
DeGraw is scheduled to perform at the Grandstand on August 25th, along with Maroon 5 and Train. Waffner says tickets have been selling well, and at least 10,000 seats should be sold by the day of the show.
A statement released on DeGraw's behalf says "Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time."
