State Police say 27-year-old Shariff Edmond, of 611 Barnes Avenue, and 20-year-old Delreon Williams, are accused of stealing a set of golf clubs and a laptop computer, then stealing a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am from Syracuse and crashing in a field on Island Road in the Town of Palermo, in Oswego County.

Police say they found the Edmond and Williams along with another man walking with the stolen items. When police got there, the men allegedly took off, leading police on a brief foot chase.

The car they allegedly crashed sustained damage to the under-carriage and the airbags were deployed.

Edmond and Williams are charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Williams is also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police say he had crack/cocaine on him at the time.

The third person was released after police determined he was not involved in the incident.
