ALBION -- A multi-time drunk driver has been arrested again after police say he drove his car off of the road on Monday.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, around 3:15 Monday afternoon 35-year-old William P. Murphy of River Road in Camden was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating an unregistered vehicle after his car was allegedly found in a ditch alongside State Route 104 in the Town of Albion. Police say Murphy is a repeat DWI offender, with prior arrests in March of 2007 and July of 2011.
Police say Murphy was found to have a blood alcohol content of .08% at the time of his arrest. The legal limit in New York State is .08%. His driver’s license was suspended for failure to pay driver responsibility fines.
Murphy was arraigned in Albion Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on September 19.
