ONEIDA COUNTY -- The case against a man accused of stabbing a six-year-old girl to death is moving forward.
An Oneida County Grand Jury indicted David Trebilcock on a charge of second degree murder Wednesday.
Trebilcock's defense attorney says his client believed Jesus wanted him to kill six-year-old Lauren Belius in July. Police say the attack happened in Belius's bedroom in their home on Primo Avenue in Sherill. Her mother, Alison, woke up to her screams and ran to the room to try to save her. Trebilcock was Alison Belius's live-in boyfriend.
Trebilcock is scheduled to be back in court next week.
