SYRACUSE -- Final preparations are underway for this year's Irish Festival. Ahead of the weekend event, drivers should expect road closures in downtown Syracuse.
The festival will take place Friday and Saturday in Clinton Square. It will be held from noon to 11 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Because of the event, drivers should expect the follow street closures:
- West Water Street, from Clinton Street to Salina Street will be closed from 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 through the morning of Sunday, Sept. 11.
- Erie Boulevard West, from Franklin to Clinton Street, will be closed after the morning rush hour on Thursday, Sept. 8, through the morning of Sunday, Sept. 11.
- Clinton Street, from Genesee Street to Washington Street, will also be closed after the morning rush hour on Thursday, Sept. 8, through the morning of Sunday, Sept. 11.
