Fire hazard leads to recall
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling dehumidifiers after several have caught fire. The 30-pint portable dehumidifiers, made by L-G, and sold under the Goldstar and Comfort-aire brands. were sold at Home Depot, Wal*Mart, Ace Hardware and other retailers nationwide from January, 2007 through June, 2008 for between 140 and 150 dollars.

The CPSC says at least nine fires, totaling more than one million dollars in damages, have been started by the recalled dehumidifiers.
