This summer's weather had the right conditions to make it bad for allergy sufferers. But what's really making allergies so bad right now for so many?
Many of you are probably searching for relief from constant sniffling and sneezing. But do you know what's behind it?
Right now, there are three factors that are contributing to lots of sniffles and swollen eyes.
"The grasses are pollenating, and then the weeds are really starting to pick up now as we head into the fall, and the mold counts are just high," said Dr. Larry Castillo, an Immunologist.
Even though the grasses pollenate year-round, doctors say this summer had the right scenarios to make it bad for allergy sufferers.
"More dry weather, less rains, less pollen taken out of the air, so pollens will stay airborne for a longer period of time," said Dr. Charles Kleczka, who specializes in asthma and allergies.
The heaviest pollen counts come in the morning right when many people are outside doing gardening or other outdoor activities.
Doctors recommend you stay inside as much as possible to avoid making your allergies even worse.
There is relief on the way. It's a few months down the road though. The best months for allergy sufferers are in the middle of winter, so you'll have to wait for December and January for full relief.
