SCHROEPPEL, OSWEGO CO. -- A North Syracuse woman is accused of driving drunk, then slipping out of handcuffs as police tried to arrest her.
Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 47-year-old Wendy Korycinski drove her van off SR 49 in the Town of Schroeppel into a field. It happened around 1:11 a.m. Sunday.
Korycinski was arrested, and while she was being transported, she allegedly slipped her hands out of the handcuffs and threw them into the front seat of the patrol car, then refused to allow deputies to put them back on her.
During the arrest, deputies say she kicked an officer in the leg and was uncooperative by trying to bring her handcuffs to the front of her body and refusing to sign paperwork. Deputies say she also wouldn't cooperate when having her booking photograph taken and continued to flip off the light switch in the interview room after being told numerous times to leave it on.
While being transported for her arraignment, Korycinski allegedly tried to move her handcuffs to the front of her body again.
She's charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, unlicensed operator and crossed hazardous road markings.
She was arraigned in the Town of Palermo Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bail bond. She's due back in the Town of Schroeppel Court on Wednesday.
