The Cayuga County Health Department says they have found no tainted water around the area of a pipeline rupture in Aurelius.

Health department officials say test results taken on the three days following the Tuesday pipeline rupture at the intersection of Turnpike and Townsend Roads showed no traces of gasoline in the six residential wells that were sampled.

Officials say testing will continue next week to make sure there is no gasoline in the water. Health department officials recommend residents use bottled water if they are still concerned. They say if your water has a sheen, odor or taste of gasoline, to avoid using it and call the health department at 315-253-1405.
