SYRACUSE -- Syracuse firefighters tell CNY Central trees and overgrown brush made it difficult to put out a fire on the city's southside Saturday night.

Flames broke out at an abandoned building at 210 Shonnard Street just after 7:30 pm.  Firefighters said there is extensive damage to the second floor and attic.

No one was home at the time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
