EAST SYRACUSE -- If you're looking for a job, you may be in luck. Time Warner Cable plans to add 76 professional technical jobs to Syracuse.
It comes as the company selects East Syracuse as the future home for its East Region Network Operations Center. The new additions will bring the total employment at the center to 105 by March 2012.
The new East Region Network Operations Center will provide round-the-clock management and monitoring for Time Warner Cable networks serving 5.9 million residential and business customers in nine states, stretching from Maine to South Carolina.
According to Time Warner, "by centralizing this critical network management function, (the company) will ensure superior reliability, performance and quality for customers."
"Time Warner Cable is pleased to announce the addition of these technical jobs to a Syracuse community that is increasingly a hotbed for high-tech economic development," said Henry Hryckiewicz, President of Network Operations & Engineering for Time Warner Cable's East Region. "The new East Region Network Operations Center is an important part of our strategy for providing the best performing, most reliable networks and services for our customers, and also demonstrates Time Warner Cable's strong investment in and commitment to Central New York."
This East Syracuse location was selected because of the infrastructure already in place at the existing Network Operations Center facility. The facility will be expanded by the end of this year to house the additional employees and technology.
