A 17 year-old is being charged with DWI after crashing her car in New Hartford early Sunday morning.
New Hartford Police say Cindy Tran of Utica was driving on the on ramp for State Route 840 off Middle Settlement Rd. when she lost control of the vehicle and rolled over into a ditch on the side of the road.
Police say when they arrived at the scene, Tran and a passenger told them a deer had run in front of another vehicle forcing her to stop and lose control. Police say after further investigation they found that story wasn't true and Tran was given sobriety tests and later arrested for DWI.
Tran was also charged with operating out of class with a junior operators license and speeding. She will be appear in court at a later date.
