SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man is facing charges after crashing into a utility pole and leading police on a foot chase overnight.
Just before 4 a.m., police say 22-year-old Stanley Stallworth, of 908 Lemoyne Avenue, was seen driving erratically in a 2002 Ford Explorer, weaving and speeding through Kirk Park.
When the officer tried to pull Stallworth over, they say he sped off and later lost control at the intersection of Midland and Bellevue Avenues, slamming into a utility pole.
Police say Stallworth took off on foot, but was later arrested. A male passenger in the SUV suffered a minor leg injury and was transported to the hospital. The passenger's name is not being released at this time.
Stallworth is charged with reckless operation, unlawful fleeing, unlicensed operation, passing a red light, failure to keep right, and leaving the scene of a personal injury incident. He was taken to the Justice Center and is scheduled to be arraigned today in Syracuse City Court.
