Arrests made in Utica elder abuse case

UTICA -- According to the Utica Police Department, Jodi Golden, 44, Jonathan V. Evans, 27, and Ashley M. Balandis, 23, were arrested following an investigation into a possible elder abuse case.

Police say the case involved someone allegedly using an elderly couple’s credit card to purchase thousands of dollars of items.

Golden, of Newport, was charged with grand larceny. Evans, of Utica, and Balandis, of Rome, were both charged with forgery.
