CAYUGA CO. -- Two burglaries in broad daylight are under investigation in Cayuga County, and investigators want you to keep an eye out for an older model Lincoln car.
Cayuga County Sheriff's deputies and State Police are both investigating two daytime burglaries involving the suspect vehicle.
The first happened August 31 on Humphrey Road in the Town of Ira. The homeowner says electronics and jewelry were stolen. A witness reports seeing a silver colored Lincoln Continental parked in the area at the time of the burglary between 2:45 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. that day.
The second burglary happened in a barn of Jorolemon Road near Quimby's Bridge in the Town of Cato. The homeowner says two chainsaws and a crossbow were taken. Witnesses report seeing an older white Lincoln parked in the area between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. a few days prior to the burglary report. The witness remembers seeing a white man approximately 50 to 60-years-old in the car.
It's unclear at this point if the two incidents are related or if the witnesses saw the same vehicle parked in both areas.
