UTICA -- Utica Police have confirmed a motel owner was murdered.

Late Friday afternoon, police announced the death of 68-year-old Linda Turner was ruled a homicide. Turner was found dead Monday at the Davis Motel on Herkimer Road in Utica. Turner owned the motel, and also lived there. Police had called her death "suspicious" at first.

Officers are not saying how Turner was killed in order to protect the investigation. They say they do not have a specific suspect yet, but are following up leads on several suspects.

Police are looking for help to find Turner's car. She drove a black 2011 Toyota Solara convertible, similar to the pictures posted on this page. Police stress the pictures are similar to Turner's car, but are not the actual car. Turner's license plate number is ODW916.

Investigators are warning the public not to try to stop the car if they see it, and do not try to detain anyone.

If you have any information, call Utica Police at (315) 735-3301. Ask for the Criminal Investigations Division.
