UTICA -- A Utica woman was arrested for drunk driving with a BAC nearly three times the legal limit Tuesday night.
Utica Police say they responded to report of a hit and run accident on Broad Street at 5S Tuesday night around 8:00p.m.
Officer Brelinsky spoke with several witness who said there was a disabled car pulled to the side of Broad Street near Mohawk Street and a good samaritan pulled over to help the motorist.
Witnesses tell police that a gold car traveling on Broad Street drove at the two vehicles, nearly hitting them.
The driver of another vehicle, which was behind the gold car, reported watching the gold car nearly miss the two vehicles on the side of the road and then hit a street sign. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Police followed a trail of debris to the gold car which was parked in a driveway on Milgate Street in Utica.
An investigation into the driver’s sobriety showed the driver, 56-year old Margaret Orourke, had a blood alcohol content level of .23% - nearly three times the legal limit of .08%.
The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, several traffic summons and leaving the scene of an accident-violation.
