WESTMORELAND -- State Police are investigating an accident that sent one person to the hospital.

It happened Sunday afternoon around 2:30 at the intersection of Cider Street and West Carter Road (Humphrey Road) in the Town of Westmoreland.

Curtis Morgan, 27, of Vernon, was traveling north on Cider Street when his Kawasaki motorcycle was hit by another vehicle, according to a press release from State Police.

Joseph Virgo, 79, of Rochester, did not see the motorcycle as he tried to make a left turn onto Cider Street, said police.

Morgan tried to get around the car, but hit Virgo's vehicle. Morgan was thrown off the bike.

He was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Virgo was not hurt.

There's no word on whether any tickets will be issued.
